Wake Forest Seniors
The Northern Wake Senior Center offers area residents recreational activities promoting fitness, wellness, and lifelong learning--and it's a fun and friendly place.
One of the Center's major activities is the crafts group. These seniors are very enthusiastic about their efforts, and they produce excellent quality products. They consistently contribute about 20-30 beautiful blankets per month to Project Linus! Bless their hearts.
One of the members is unfortunately blind, but she is still able to make exceptional quality blankets. They also have at least one gentleman, and everyone gets so excited whenever we are able to share excess yarn and materials for them to work with.
The group is led by Dorothy, and participants include: Clyde, Jean, Diana, Eve, Florence, Gloria, Lee, Ruth, Margeth, Carol, Liz, Elizabeth, Edwina, Herenia, Herna, Pam, Thelma, Inga, Miriam, Elaine, Margarita, Ethel, Wilson, Bertha, Stella, Barbara, Jean, and Susie.
The Senior Center is located at 235 East Holding Avenue in Wake Forest, and any Wake County resident 55 years or older is eligible to participate in the activities. For more information, call Dorothy at the Center at 919-554-4111, or visit http://www.ResourcesForSeniors.com/scenters.php.
