The Project Linus Chapter of Wake County, NC was started in 1996 by Susie Holmes. Over 50,000 blankets have been delivered to many local groups and agencies that help seriously ill or traumatized children who need a HUG from a blanket including: Wake Med Hospitals, Rex Hospital, Duke Hospital NICU, Safe Space (for children of abused women receiving support), Hospice (for their Reflections program for grieving children and teens), Make a Wish Foundation, the children at Salvation Army, Children's Flight of Hope, and Wake County Social Services.

MABD 2016- What an EXTRAORDINARY DAY!

Our 2016 Make a Blanket Day was INCREDIBLE! We had a fabulous attendance from the most dedicated and fun blanketeers! We had over 530 blankets ready to donate to children in need by the end of our event. Thank you to EVERYONE who helped and come to our 2016 MABD!  Thank you to Temple Beth Or Synagogue for donating the space- we love it! For those who crocheted, knitted, make fleece blankets, sewed on labels and poems, orchestrated the raffle, counted and sorted blankets, etc,- Our incredible teamwork helped make this year even better than the last! Timothy and Denise from Wake Med came to see us in action. They shared with us what an impact we make. So whether you sew on one label or 200, make one blanket or 150, every stitch counts and makes a difference in a child's life. Susie Holmes, who started our chapter 20 years ago, shared some heartfelt letters. Again, Thank you.
